Meet the Artist & Author

MKM Creates is the amalgamation of two creatives in one. Marla. K. Morris is an emerging African American artist who highlights people of color in her mosaic shimmering diamond paintings to showcase simplistic beauty. She has a focus on creating vibrant colorful portraits in a gamut of settings: vintage, present day and futuristic. She enjoys bedazzling her pieces with resin, glass or acrylic beads, crystals and rhinestones.

Her guilty pleasure is watching criminal justice dramas and she also writes true crime fiction based on incidents in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio.

Features

MKM Creates is consistently involved in the artistic Columbus community. Marla has been a featured diamond painting artist with Fresh A.I.R. Gallery, 1221 Art Space, the Greater Columbus Arts Council and All Peoples Art. She has also submitted several collages for an exhibition at 83 Gallery.

When she isn't focused on diamond painting she is writing novels about true crimes that happened in the inner city of Columbus. Referencing historical landmarks and the technology of yesteryear are her forte. She is currently working on a new series about central Ohio's femme fatales. Her current offerings: His Dream, Her Nightmare, Her Dream, His Nightmare, Sweet Burial, and Misplaced Danger are all available for purchase on Amazon and Audible.
